Music and dance have always been a passion for this Filipina artist since she was a little girl. As a DJ, Mia Guzman combines her dance skills, eclectic taste and natural beauty to captivate audiences at exclusive events and parties around the world.
Describing her genre as ‘Space Music’, Mia mixes the hottest hip hop, house, pop, electro and psychedelic tracks. By infusing her personal style, Mia creates a sound that’s a distinct audio signature. When not on the road, Mia can be found at her residency at the largest night club in Hollywood — The Highlands.
Mia’s debut as a full-time professional DJ came during Apl.de.Ap’s (Black Eyed Peas) Birthday Party, and at Club Nacional alongside by DJ Vice back in 2006. She released her first mixtape CD through Apl.de.Ap’s Jeepney Music in 2008. The mixtape included a blend of today’s pop, hip hop and electro genre’s and at the time, was a step outside the typical DJ format; a testament to her ‘future-pop’ thinking, Mia’s unique talent, personality, and look landed a role as the resident DJ for MTV’s Celebrity Rap Superstar in 2007. In 2008, Mia joined one of the hottest new reality televsion shows as the official resident DJ of MTV’s Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew, during Seasons 4 and 5.
As a model, Mia has appeared in national print and television projects for tokidoki, Sony Playstation, Burger King, Budweiser, Vitamin Water, Sunkist, Skintimate, Jamaican Style, Import Tuner Magazine, SouthPole, and Halifax Bank- ing. Mia has also appeared in videos for Eminem, Nelly, Blink 182, System of a Down, Hoobastank, Black Eyed Peas, and JC Chasez. She was also featured on Nick Cannon’s Wild’n Out on MTV.
Mia is always on the move. As a business-woman and entrepeneur, Mia is currently working on her self-branded online clothing and accessory store.
